What it is
Internal wall insulation, made from natural cork
Cork plaster insulation adds a thin, seamless insulating layer to the inside of external walls. Because it is applied as a plaster rather than fixed as boards, it follows the shape of the wall and leaves a clean, continuous finish.
Internal wall insulation improves a building’s energy efficiency. It helps retain heat, reduces cold spots and condensation, and cuts noise thanks to the natural properties of cork.
The system can often be installed without removing skirting boards and coving, which keeps disruption down in occupied rooms.

Why it is used
The benefits of cork plaster
Thermal performance
An insulating layer on the inside of external walls helps retain heat and reduce cold spots, and can keep interiors cooler when outside heat is high.
Acoustic performance
Cork is naturally sound absorbing, so the system also helps reduce noise between rooms and from outside.
Breathable
The finish is breathable, which suits older solid-wall properties where moisture needs to move through the structure.
Mould resistant
Warmer wall surfaces and a mould-resistant finish work together to reduce the conditions condensation needs.
Thin and seamless
A slim, seamless coating rather than boarding out, so rooms lose very little floor space.
Natural material
Made from natural cork, giving a sustainable option for upgrading internal walls and ceilings.
